I was thinking while watching a preview for a movie called "Coco before Chanel" with my dear friend Michelle, about how people behind the great ideas, empires, successful companies, etc. always (most of them) start from scratch. The so called entrepreneurs have nothing until they fight for their dreams and get them. It does not come easy, because of other people with less genius who are too ignorant to see that great ideas not always come from the most educated, the best grades, or simply what society considers genius. And most people don't dare to look outside the box because of pure social pressure on them, telling them what good and bad is. For example, I hate it when people label you because of a diploma. I simply hate it! How is it that a piece of paper will define my knowledge and experience in life? It's stupid, I don't believe in learning a list of things that will eventually give me a piece of paper that assures that I know all of these things, and then have people believe me because of the very piece of paper. Don't get me wrong, I do believe in education, but the one you give yourself, in the knowledge you acquire on your own, of the things you love, want, and long for. Not for the paper. Now, back to what I was talking about, I want to be like them, the amazing people that create great things out of simplicity. Let me tell you, I'm already on the first step towards that, which is, I have nothing... And, come to think about it, when you don't have much, you have nothing to lose either... :D Here's to Gabrielle Coco... My inspiration on my little note today... :)
